About me

I grew up in Glossop (Derbyshire), a town on the edge of bleak moorlands, with black stone walls contouring the hills. I did an Art foundation, then Pre diploma course at Ashton College. Then followed a degree course at Bath Academy of Art in visual communications which led to a fellowship teaching printing and bookbinding.

I moved to London to draw illustrations for magazines, using watercolour and pen and ink, which then led to illustrating children’s books.

Alongside my publishing work I have always painted for my own pleasure, I like to work in a different style, focusing on form and mass, using a calmer subdued palette. It is good to be able to take my time, in contrast to rushing for a deadline.

I live in London and East Sussex.
